Two Sides To Every Coin

Did you read about the 18 yr old girl from Ireland that did some terrible things in a bar on the Spanish island of Magaluf? I won’t describe it, but it is where the world is today and it’s very sad. I was reading the news today and saw a related story.

Here is a part of the story…A pal exclusively told the Irish Mirror her family believes “God will see them through this”.  She added: “She is a lovely girl but she’s been looking for excitement. She made a terrible mistake a few weeks ago and she has been fully forgiven. Her family loves her and will protect her in their faith.

But in saying that, everyone is devastated. “It may be a positive thing that this story has got out because now the situation can be addressed and she can regain her strength and dignity. “The family is very strong and very much at one with The Lord. “While others may see what she is said to have done as an act of depravity, we see it as something quite different. “She has been a victim, a target of evil, of wickedness and she has most definitely been led astray in a vulnerable moment. “She went into the world and it got the better of her. We need protection in this world and somehow she dropped her Godly protection for a moment – but that’s all it takes. “Her family are fully aware of what is said to have gone on and they have been shocked and horrified. “But they know how vulnerable young women are in the world and when they go to places for adventure and discover their protection in The Lord is attacked, they can fall.

”The family has been deeply involved in a born-again Christian movement for many years and live their life as an example of “living forgiveness”. The girl’s father, who works from home, remained at the family bungalow yesterday. He refused to comment on his daughter’s antics. But the family friend said: “There is no doubt he is heartbroken and devastated for his girl. “He is praying for strength and guidance and although this is the sort of thing that can shake your faith, he will remain strong as she will need all the help she can get.”.

Her family are Christians. Wouldn’t it be a shattering thing to have the whole world know of your personal sin? Wouldn’t be a wonderful thing if the Lord used this to turn this girl’s life around to the glory of God. I think I will be praying for her family and for her, that lives will be won to Christ.

John 8:3-11 “The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst they said to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery. 5 Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?” 6 This they said to test him, that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. 7 And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 And once more he bent down and wrote on the ground. 9 But when they heard it, they went away one by one, beginning with the older ones, and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. 10 Jesus stood up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.” ESV
